The G. Fred and Minnie Hill Association
June 2005 Meeting
The Association met on June 4, 2005 at the Piedmont Clubhouse in Rutherfordton. Corie Conwell hosted the meeting.
Raymond Hollifield, President of the Association, greeted everyone and thanked Corie for hosting the meeting.
David Hollifield opened the meeting with a devotion.
53 family members were present. Attendance by family groups was:
Louise: 9
James: 19
Ellen: 3
Beatrice: 1
Martin: 1
Ruth: 2
Sue: 3
Charles: 8
Yates: 1
Don: 6
Minutes of the December 2004 minutes were read and one correction was made. Concerning Charles' family, son "Jason" called from Afghanistan - not Michael.
Corie gave the treasurer's report.
Helen Jacobs discussed her concern that we do something to preserve the family photo collection in a way that would be available to all. No one had any ideas on how to do this yet.
Julie Hensley discussed Relay for Life and she and Rob had a demonstration set up for people to see a prior event. Julie agreed to organize a Hill Family group for the event if we had enough interest.
We discussed sharing family memories. Raymond brought copies of the article when David was kidnapped. Rob Hensley also brought a story of his favorite childhood memory.
Congratulations were given to Ann Hill's grandson Gregory who graduated from High School and to Jim and Doris' granddaughter Erin Aldredge who graduated from Gardner Webb.
Raymond asked about family members that needed our prayers: Don who recently moved to White Oak Manor; Jim and Doris' granddaughter Kim will be having open heart surgery on June 14th;
Everyone was reminded that the December meeting will actually be held on January 1, 2006 - the Sunday after Christmas.
The meeting ended with the group singing "Blest be the Tie that Binds."
