The G. Fred and Minnie Hill Association June 2004 Meeting

On Saturday, June 5th, 2004, the association held its summer meeting at the James Hill Homeplace, hosted by James and his children.

There were 40 members in attendance:

Raymond said the blessing and a large covered dish lunch was enjoyed by all.

After lunch, Raymond opened the business meeting with a video of a choir singing “It Is Well With My Soul.”

All were reminded that Sunday, June 6th was the 60th Anniversary of D-Day and that Bill Koon was one of the young soldiers present for that event.

Helen asked the participation of all in getting an updated Family Address List and gave each family a print out to update.

Corie announced that the Association has $481.87 in our accounts.

Raymond asked that Debbie Merting replace him as a member of the photo organizing committee. No one opposed this replacement.

New officers were elected:

Raymond Hollifield – president
Linda Roberts – vice president
Helen Jacobs – secretary
Corie Conwell – treasurer

Beatrice informed the members that Ann was still willing to place the flowers in the church in June in memory of Minnie Hill. Helen will purchase the flowers for people who are ill or when there are deaths. Helen request that other family members keep her informed when flowers need to be sent.

Beatrice said that she will again be the hostess at the December meeting. The meeting will be on December 26th at The Barbeque Place. The meeting will start at 2 pm to allow those involved in out of town church services time to attend.

A collection of $100.00 was taken.

Raymond played the keyboard and the family joined in singing some favorite hymns. The meeting concluded with the singing of “Bless Be The Tie That Binds.”

After the meeting there was a shower for CJ and Misono Wilson and Jeff and Sherry Carlton.
