Rob’s son Jeff was welcomed by the group. It has been a while since he has attended a meeting. He is now living with Rob and Rachel.

Linda introduced her guest, Randy Ayers.

Raymond expressed disappointment that a family as large as ours was not able to demonstrate enough interest to have a team in the Relay for Life.

There was a discussion of how to preserve the association photos. Helen told how Jim had saved old photos on DVD for use in James’ book and felt this would be a good way to save the photos and would be easy to share copies with all family members. Jeff Hensley said he would help with this project.

Congratulations were given to the following family members:

Mark announced the marriage of his son Brad to Natasha.

Ruth’s grandson David recently graduated from Winston-Salem State with a Master’s in Physical Therapy.

Wanda completed her Associate’s of Arts Degree.

Nancy finished her BA Degree.

Candice Edwards has been certified by the National Boards for Professional Teaching Standards.

Steve is expecting two new grandchildren.

The following family members are in transition:

David Hollifield has retired after 40 years with the same company. He plans to play a lot of golf.

Raymond will retire on March 31, 2006 and hopes to travel a lot.

Ruth is in the process of moving to Charlotte to live with Reggie and Debbie.

Tonya announced that Don has moved to a private room at White Oak Manor – Room 505 – and has more room for entertaining company.

James shared about his book, “I Have Been Blessed” that has recently been published.

The June meeting will be on June 3rd at the Piedmont Club House and will be hosted by Raymond and David. Helen will confirm our reservation at the clubhouse.

The group voted to hold the December 2006 meeting on December 31st instead of December 17th. It was felt that Dec. 24 was not an option since many would be involved in Christmas Eve events.

Helen gave an updated copy of the Family Address List to each family unit and asked that members keep her informed of address changes.

A collection was taken and $225 received.

The family all expressed appreciation to Beatrice for such a lovely holiday dinner.

Randy sang and played his guitar for the group. All enjoyed this special music. He also accompanied the group as they sang “Bless be the Tie that Binds.”

The meeting was adjourned.
