Kenneth informed the group that Baxter had contacted him and would be unable to attend the meeting and offered to resign as president if the association approved. It was decided that we could continue with the present officers until the June meeting. In Baxter's absence, Tonya presided at the meeting.
The minutes from the June 2002 meeting were read and approved. The treasurer's report was given. The members were given an explanation of why the Association made the contribution to Reid as a memorial to his grandson Howard. Tonya then gave other members an opportunity to contribute to this memorial.
Beatrice announced that she still has a large supply of her book on the descendants of Barney Hill entitled Barney's Blood. This book will be a valuable resource for future generations. Members should see Beatrice to obtain copies.
Reid talked about the losses his family has experienced this past year with the deaths of Sandra and Howard. He then shared a reading that Sandra had written about a Christmas that had a positive message for her. Reid shared copies of the reading with the group.
It was announced that the next meeting will be the first Saturday in June, hosted by Louise's family and held at the home of Yates and Anne.
After sharing food and fellowship, the group sang "Blest be the Tie that Binds" and the meeting was adjourned.
