The December 2000 meeting of the Fred and Minnie Hill Association was held at The Barbeque Place in Rutherfordton.

President Helen Jacobs began the business meeting by expressing the thanks of the family to Bea for hosting lunch.

A card from Wanda and letter from Hospice acknowledging the family’s contribution in memory of Elton Landis were read by Julia.

Helen agreed to continue as president for another year, with Baxter as vice president and Julia as secretary. Tonya volunteered to host the summer 2001 meeting (June 2) at Don and Jo’s home. It was decided to hold the December 2001 get-together on the Sunday before Christmas. James, describing himself as "the senior member of the Hill clan," presented copies of a book telling the story of his life. Helen reminded everyone to provide changes and updates on family members’ addresses so the master list can be kept up to date. Each family introduced the members who were present. The meeting concluded with the singing of "Blest Be the Tie That Binds."
