Bea opened a discussion on the possibility of holding only one family get-together each year, in summer. The December meeting is not as well attended as the June one, possibly because summertime is a more convenient time for families who have to travel from other places. Several members felt that the preparation for the meeting was a lot of work and trouble, and that, especially for the older embers of the family, it is not fair to ask them to do it. The possibility of going to a restaurant "dutch-treat" was talked abot as an alternative to the covered dish get-together. Joan still made a plea that we not give it up. She said we are the only family she has and that the chance to see everyone every six months is too important to lose. It was strongly suggested that if the tradition is to continue, the grandchildren need to think seriously about taking charge. The discussion was tabled until the June meeting.

Bea also proposed that we agree on a policy that when immediate members of the family are in the hospital, it is not necessary for the association to send flowers. A motion to this effect was made and seconded. The motion passed.

For June 1994, Julia Hensley said she would host the meeting at the Hensley home on Washington Street. The December 1993 hosting duties remain open.

Ann mentioned that she had been doing the cemetary for two years and she felt someone else should take over. Tonya said that she would do this for one year.

Reggie made a suggestion that we look into the possibility of transferring old family photos and documents to a video format so that everone could have a copy if they wanted one. Reggie, Sue Koon and Julie were asked to serve on a committee to investigate the feasibility of this. It was suggested that everone bring any photos they have that should be included to the next meeting in June.

Reid announced that he had copies of the photograph of the old brick mill which were available for $13.00.

It was Reid’s turn to be "roasted."

Anyone who wanted to take a poinsettia was asked to do so.

The gathering concluded with the singing of "Blest Be the Tie That Binds."
